Delayed equipment arrival stall search mission

Following the Likoni tragedy, the government emerged that only four spots have been mapped as opposed to the 14 indicated earlier.

The maped locations are 57metres, 47 metres, 37metres and 27metres deep where the teams suspected the vehicles and bodies could be lying.

The government had not deployed equipment that would help retrieve the bodies of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu. This had acquired more tools for the task.

Kenya ferry services said that search had been directed to the last four possible locations that were difficult and needed more cautious approach to avoid endangering the safety of the divers.

The government has come under intense pressure and condemnation from the public over what may term in failure in valuing the lives of its citizens.
