Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Nigeria, said the main problem facing the youths in the state is joblessness . Over four million youths are struggling to get employment meant for people every year.
The governor who represented by his deputy, Hon Agboola Ajayi, said one of the key things of his cardinal action plan as a government was human capital development, being the foundation of the socio economic growth of the state.
According to Akeredolu the agricultural value chain business was an important aspect of his government’s plan to create jobs for the youths and to develop to the state economy.
He exposed that the business had engaged over 18000 youths, while social protection and reinvestment programmes had currently engaged about 50000 young people.
The state commissioner for youth and sport development, Dotun Owanikin, said the programme showed the assurance of the state governor towards youth in the state.
Owaninkin revealed that each local government area had a minimum of 20 youths.
